Summary: The total amount of carbon and of organic carbon was determined on a carbon analyzer. Using the formula: percent total carbon minus percent organic carbon multiplied by 8.33, the percent of calcium carbonate in the sample was calculated. Complete carbon and calcium carbonate analyses are tabulated, and a scatter diagram to illustrate distribution of carbonate within the sediments is included. Results are described by sites.
