Summary: Standard sieve and pipette methods were used to determine grain size distribution on sediment samples. The methods of sample preparation are described. The reproducibility for the sand-silt-clay fractions is 2.5% (absolute). Total carbon and acid-insoluble (organic) carbon were analyzed using the new LECO WR-12 analyzer. The technique used is described.
