Summary: The first phase of this NE Atlantic volcanism consisted of tholeiitic basalts and hyaloclastites; the second consisted of airfall and lapilli tuffs of basic to intermediate composition. Alteration products include smectite, celadonite, analcite, phillipsite, clinoptilolite, mordenite and calcite.
