Summary: Three distinct groups of fission-track ages of detrital apatite and sphene were obtained from early Eocene and Palaeocene sandstones. The ages are 56, 100 and 150-200 m.y. for the apatite crystals. The sphene gave ages of 60 and 1380 m.y. These ages are consistent with source areas from Greenland and the Rockall Bank.
