Summary: This paper reports crystallization ages derived from 40Ar/39Ar incremental heating experiments for rocks and feldspars ranging from 119 to 34 m.y. with most of the submarine Kerguelen Plateau volcanic activity being between 119 and 115 m.y. The influence of the major igneous activity on global anoxic events and on the evolution of the Sr isotopic composition of sea-water is deduced.
